Introducing Noelle – A Dedicated and Compassionate Chartered Counselling Psychologist at Bonsai Therapy

Meet Noelle, a devoted and playful Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience specialising in play therapy. With a passion for working therapeutically with children and families, Noelle brings a wealth of expertise to Bonsai Therapy.

Professional Background:

Noelle has contributed her skills to various esteemed organisations, including Tusla, the Rape Crisis Centre, ISPCC, Child and Adolescent service (CAMHS), and the National Counselling Service. Her commitment to the field extends to academia, where she has been invited as a guest lecturer for NUI Maynooth, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Drogheda Institute of Further Education, and Progressive College.

Educational Journey:

Having completed her MSc in Counselling Psychology over two decades ago at the University of Ulster, Noelle has consistently applied her learning to her therapeutic work. In recent years, her commitment to positive outcomes for younger children led her to further education. Noelle successfully completed her postgraduate training in Play Therapy with NUI Galway, graduating with distinction.

Passion for Psychology:

Noelle’s enthusiasm for psychology goes beyond her professional life. She enjoys both learning and teaching about various psychological aspects. In her spare time, she channels her creative side into baking, crafting impressive and elaborate cakes.

Services at Bonsai Therapy:

As a therapist at Bonsai Therapy, Noelle offers play therapy and counselling psychology for children under the age of 18. Her expertise extends to 1:1 parent support, providing valuable assistance to parents navigating the complexities of raising children.

She is a member of the PSI and PTUK accrediting bodies.

Her qualifications include BSc (Hons) Social Psychology, Dip Industrial Studies, MSc Counselling Psychology, Post grad Cert in Issues in Sexual Violence, Post grad Cert in Therapeutic Play Skills, Post grad Diploma in Play Therapy. She is also trained in levels 1 and 2 Theraplay and also group Theraplay. Post grad certificate in Creative clinical supervision.

She regularly attends ongoing training events to ensure she stays up to date with recent evidence based practice and undertakes regular supervision to ensure best practice.

Noelle is a trained creative clinical supervisor committed to guiding clinicians towards their fullest potential. With a keen understanding of the importance of supervision in therapeutic practice, Noelle emphasises its role in enhancing clinical skills, promoting self-awareness, and ensuring ethical conduct. Through collaborative sessions, Noelle fosters a supportive environment where supervisees can reflect, learn, and grow. By embracing supervision, clinicians not only enhance their proficiency but also demonstrate a commitment to ongoing growth and excellence in their field.

Triona Quigley (Msc) has long had an interest in people & relationships. Particularly children, adolescents and families and what each of us bring to a relationship. She completed her Msc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Trinity College Dublin and did her clinical training with the Irish Institute of Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (IFCAPP).

With over 20 years of experience working with children/adolescents and families she is particularly interested in supporting children and adolescents who she works with either directly through individual sessions or indirectly through their parents. Triona is experienced working psychoanalytically in a non-directive way or in a more directive way through Theraplay.

Triona works with children & adolescents with wide ranging behavioural, emotional and psychological challenges including depression, anxiety, panic disorders, school refusal, low sel-esteem, self-harm, loss, trauma, attachment difficulties & many other life events.
